Convicted Bismarck Murderer Files Appeal

(Mandan, ND) — A teen who’s serving a sentence of life with the possibility of parole for murder has filed an appeal to overturn his conviction. A Burleigh County jury found Jesse Taylor Jr. guilty last September of killing Maurice Thunder Shield, who was shot to death at a Motel 6 in Bismarck in 2022. Taylor’s attorney filed court documents last week questioning if there was enough evidence to convict Taylor.
