(South Heart, ND) — One person is dead and another is critically injured following a house fire in South Heart. It happened over the weekend near 53rd Street Southwest and 125th Avenue Southwest, and firefighters found the home engulfed in flames when they arrived. Sixty-two-year-old Deane Nichols was pronounced dead at the scene, while 62-year-old Bambi Mansfield was airlifted to a hospital to receive treatment for severe burns. Officials haven’t said how the fire started.
