(Bismarck, ND) — Democratic candidate Travis Hipsher is no longer in North Dakota’s gubernatorial race. He entered in January as the only Democrat and announced his withdrawal yesterday. In a statement, Hipsher thanked Districts 19, 24, 29 and 40 for inviting him to their conventions, and said the “next governor needs to represent the working people of North Dakota.” His withdrawal leaves Republicans Kelly Armstrong and Tammy Miller, Independent Michael Coachman, and Democrat Merrill Piepkorn still in the race.
