Detroit Man Sentenced In Minot Drug Case

(Minot, ND) — A Detroit man has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison in connection with a drug trafficking case in Minot. Authorities say in 2022, members of a DEA task force executed a search warrant at a motel in Minot, and found Davonte Carter trying to flush fentanyl pills down the toilet as they raided the room. Officers were able to recover nearly a-thousand fentanyl pills, and Carter was arrested. He later pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance in exchange for other charges being dismissed. Carter will be on supervised release for five years after he completes his prison term.
