(Bismarck, ND) — An Army Reservist from Dickinson is being accused of federal firearms violations after he allegedly made posts on social media that supported mass shooters. The FBI took Gunnar Ebert into custody on October 8th after a search of his Dickinson home turned up ten weapons including handguns, shotguns and rifles. In one of his posts on Telegram, the Marine Corps veteran appears in uniform with a caption that reads if he ever does “anything out of pocket,” he wants to make sure this is one of the pictures that are sent to the news media. In another post, Ebert pays tribute to a mass shooter who killed 51 people at two mosques in New Zealand in 2019. The case is headed to a grand jury for a possible indictment.
