Dickinson Opens Shelter Ahead Of Arctic Temperatures

(Dickinson, ND) — The city of Dickinson is preparing for a blast of frigid arctic air that will move in this weekend. The polar vortex is expected to bring sub-zero temperatures, life-threatening wind chills, and accumulating snow. Meteorologists say wind chills could plummet to 55-degrees below zero, and in response, city leaders have set up an emergency shelter. The shelter has 10 beds with room for more, and will offer meals, comfort bags with personal items, and essential winter gear. It will remain open through Wednesday.
