Doug Burgum’s Interior Confirmation Hearing Delayed Over Paperwork

(Washington, DC) — Former Governor Doug Burgum’s confirmation hearing as the presumptive Interior Secretary nominee is getting pushed back over missing paperwork. Republican chair of the Energy and Natural Resources committee Mike Lee announced the delay “to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of this process.” This comes after the top Democrat on the panel, New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich, blamed Lee for breaching protocol in holding a hearing before having the appropriate paperwork.
