Driver Arrested At Scene Of Vehicle Fire

(Wahpeton, ND) — A vehicle fire near Wahpeton ended with an arrest Tuesday evening. First responders were called to Highway 127 south of Wahpeton on a report of a car engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and police at the scene soon realized the 41-year old driver had an outstanding warrant. He reportedly tried to run away from the officers, but was arrested and taken to the Richland County Jail. Investigators say the fire was likely caused by a mechanical or electrical issue.
