Fatal Crash Case Dropped

(Grafton, ND) — The case against a man charged with criminal vehicular homicide is being dismissed. Grafton resident Christopher Thompson was accused of crashing his car last year, resulting in the death of his passenger, Jason Schatzke. Officials said that Thompson was driving under the influence at the time of the wreck. However, an autopsy determine that Schatzke died of heart issues rather than injuries sustained in the crash. As a result, a stipulation to officially dismiss the case due to a lack of evidence was filed by the state and defense late last week.
