(Bismarck, ND) — A new ruling from a federal court in Bismarck will block undocumented immigrants from using Obamacare. A coalition of 19 states including North Dakota had challenged a new rule from the Biden Administration that would expand health care benefits to recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA. Undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children would have been eligible for subsidized health insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act. On Monday, the court granted the states’ request for a temporary injunction against the federal rule.
