(Mandan, ND) — More than a dozen families are displaced following a major Thursday night fire that devastated a Mandan apartment complex. Fire crews were called to the Sundown Apartments along 15th Street Northeast shortly before 1:00 a.m. and found both buildings engulfed in flames. The blaze was eventually extinguished, and everyone inside made it out safely. Fire officials say it started as a cooking fire in a single unit, and rapidly spread before strong winds pushed the fire from the first building to the neighboring one. The Red Cross is assisting the families that are displaced.
