Flood Concerns Leading To Late Planting For Farmers

(Bismarck, ND) — Flooding concerns are forcing some North Dakota farmers to delay spring planting. Rapid snow melt is causing flooding in some areas that could push back planting. Predicted severe flooding in areas such as Bowbells, White Earth and eastern parts of the state could ruin the entire planting season for farmers. A North Dakota Extension Center official says farmers are planning to get seed into the ground in four weeks, and will be switching to corn to accommodate for the increased moisture.
