(Minot, ND) — The former athletics director at Minot State University is sharing his side of the story about his departure. KFYR-TV says it received a letter from Kevin Forde and addressed to “the people of Minot, Minot State University, and the surrounding community.” Forde notes in his letter that an “external” investigation concluded he did not commit any violations or misconduct in his investigation of student-athletes’ allegations of abuse by Minot State coaches. The letter also says he was hired by Minot State “to lead a culture shift and to turn the department around.” Forde concludes the letter by saying he often hears from people who tell him they wish he hadn’t left and hope he returns. He apologized “for any mistakes,” but said he’s “proud of the work we did together” and said he’s “more than happy to help” support Minot State in the future. Forde resigned in January after 18 months at the school.
