Former Tribe Official Sentenced To 5 Years

(Bismarck, ND) — A former official with the Three Affiliated Tribes is heading to federal prison for five years. Randall Phelan was sentenced yesterday for soliciting and taking bribes from a contractor. The contractor was working on the Fort Berthold Reservation. Phelan allegedly accepted nearly 650-thousand-dollars in kickbacks and bribes in exchange for awarding contracts.
