(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Game and Fish Department invites residents for a free ice fishing weekend at the end of the month. NDGF Fisheries Division Chief Greg Power says no license is needed for ice fishing the weekend of December 28th and 29th. Power says this should be a good ice fishing season and that fish populations are “holding their own.” He did say to exercise caution to make sure ice is thick enough. Power said ice should be 12-to-15 inches thick.
