(Bismarck, ND) — Meteorologists are expecting a colder-than-normal winter in North Dakota this year. The National Weather Service says it’s because a La Niña weather pattern will likely develop, which causes cooler temperatures in the Pacific Ocean. These cooler temperatures impact the weather in the U.S., and are associated with frigid conditions. However, forecasters don’t expect snowfall totals to be higher than average.
