Game Baiting Ban To Stay

(Bismarck, ND) — A push to allow hunters to bait game animals in North Dakota has failed. House Bill 1151 would have prevented wildlife officials from imposing big game baiting bans, but was voted against during a legislative session. Officials at the State Game and Fish Department say that baiting increases the spread of disease, while proponents of the bill claim that the ban reduces opportunities and potential success for hunters. Department officials reportedly see the defeat as a victory.
