(Bismarck, ND) — Republican presidential candidate and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum is promising a 20-dollar gift card to anyone who donates a dollar to his campaign. Burgum’s campaign website says the offer is limited to the first 50-thousand donors. Burgum confirmed on Twitter that donors will receive a Visa or Mastercard gift card at their mailing address. He said, “I’m not messing around.” Burgum also isn’t polling very high and that’s why he’s making the offer. To qualify for the first presidential debate next month in Milwaukee, candidates must have contributions from at least 40-thousand individual donors and at least one-percent support in three polls approved by the Republican National Committee. Burgum currently has one-tenth of one-percent in the Real Clear Politics average of polls.
