Governor-Elect Armstrong Says Property Tax Relief Is His Top Priority

(Bismarck, ND) — Governor-elect Kelly Armstrong says property tax reform is his top priority for the 2025 legislative session. The congressman gave a press conference Wednesday and spoke about the recent ballot measure that would have repealed North Dakota’s property tax system. Armstrong was against the measure, but said if state lawmakers don’t offer some tax relief soon, the proposal will “come back and it will come back fast.” The Governor-elect said he’s open to ideas like expanding a tax relief program which allows homeowners to apply for 500 dollars off their 2024 property taxes.
