Governor Kristi Noem Banned From Standing Rock Reservation

(Fort Yates, ND) — The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota has banned South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem from their reservation. The Tribal Council voted to ban Noem on Wednesday for what they’re calling racially-charged comments she made during recent town hall meetings. She accused tribal leaders of “personally benefiting” from Mexican drug cartel activity on reservations. Five tribes have demanded an apology from Governor Noem, and the Standing Rock Sioux is now the third tribal nation to ban her from tribal lands this year.
