Grand Forks Deputy On Temporary Leave After Shooting Suspect

(Larimore, ND) — A Grand Forks Sheriff’s Deputy has been placed on temporary leave after shooting a suspect in Larimore on Saturday. The sheriff’s office says someone called police saying they had just witnessed a murder at a home. Deputies, along with the regional SWAT team and UAS team were called for backup, but police say the suspect refused to make contact and ignored their commands. When the SWAT team entered, police say the suspect fired several rounds and reached for something as he came out of the house, and that’s when the deputy fired and hit the man. The man was taken to a hospital and his current condition isn’t known.
