Grand Forks Man Pleads Not Guilty To Fleeing, Drug Charges

(Grand Forks, ND) — A Grand Forks man accused of multiple crimes stemming from a car chase that happened earlier this year has pleaded not guilty. In March, Justin Peterson allegedly led police on a pursuit after an officer reportedly smelled marijuana inside his vehicle during a traffic stop. Peterson crashed into a telephone pole and a laundromat, and was arrested after he fled on foot and fell into the Red River. Police say they found about 180 grams of meth and nearly 37 grams of marijuana in Peterson’s backpack, and he faces several fleeing and drug-related charges.
