(Grand Forks, ND) — A Grand Forks man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for shooting at an occupied vehicle, among other crimes. The shooting happened last May, when police say Omar Martinez shot at a car driven by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, who had a child with him in the vehicle. The night prior, authorities say Martinez damaged the same man’s car and then fled from police. Martinez was arrested in July and charged with numerous crimes, and he was sentenced Monday after he pleaded guilty to the charges.
