Heat Wave Expected This Week, Drought Continues

(Bismarck, ND) — A significant heat wave is expected to affect North Dakota this week. According to meteorologists, temperatures across the state will likely reach the triple digits by the middle of the week. Climate experts say a combination of an El Nino weather pattern is combining with the affects of climate change to create scorching temperatures. In addition, drought conditions from a lack of rain are also causing issues in North Dakota, with 15-percent of wheat yields in the state currently listed as being in poor or very poor condition.
