(Minot, ND) — The winter season is officially underway at the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot. The second annual Light Up the Park took place Saturday evening as the season’s first snowfall made the Scandinavian Heritage Association’s event a true winter celebration. Christmas tree lights, along with lights in different sections of the park, went on at around 6 p.m. as those in attendance helped with the countdown. The Minot State University Choral Society entertained the crowd with popular Christmas tunes. The celebration kicked off in earnest when members of the 91st Missile Maintenance Squadron from Minot Air Force Base escorted Santa Claus into the park.
