(Bismarck, ND) — A bill is expected to go before the State House this week that would replace Chinese-made drones that are used by state agencies. A bill that would dedicate 15-million-dollars to replace the Chinese drones was passed unanimously late last week by a legislative committee. The bill was introduced by District 30 Representative Mike Nathe. He’s listed as a sponsor with ten other Republican sponsors from the State House and Senate, and one House Democrat. The Legislative Council reports that 90-percent of the drones used by state agencies are made in China. Nathe says “it’s not only a security concern for North Dakota, it’s a security concern for the U.S.”
