House Dems Say GOP Spending Cuts Could Cost North Dakota Over $1B In Disaster Aid

(Washington, DC) — Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives say North Dakota could lose over a billion dollars if Republicans drop disaster aid from the government funding bill. House Democrats on Thursday released a state-by-state analysis of how cutting 100-billion dollars from the short-term spending bill would impact those needing disaster aid. It showed that North Dakota could lose over 860-million dollars in agriculture disaster payments and about 300-million dollars in economic assistance payments for those in agriculture.
