(Grand Forks, ND) — Nearly 400 people, many of them students, packed the Mark Sanford Education Center in Grand Forks Monday to speak out against budget cuts to school music programs. The cuts across the district were announced last week, and left students and teachers alike feeling crushed. The cuts will result in several music program positions being eliminated, including one-on-one lessons. Despite protests from students and staff, the plan is to finalize the budget cuts for next year by the end of June.
