(Bismarck, ND) — Data gathered throughout 2023 shows there was an increase in fatal car crashes throughout North Dakota last year. The data was gathered and released by Vision Zero, an initiative that aims to put an end to all fatal crashes on roads in the United States. Vision Zero says there were 107 car crash fatalities as of December 23rd, 2023, and the leading factors were people not wearing seatbelts, lane departures, speeding, and alcohol. Finalized crash data will be released at the end of this month, and Vision Zero says there are ways to prevent these crashes.
