Inmate Sentenced For Role In Grand Forks County Correctional Center Protest

(Grand Forks, ND) — An inmate has been sentenced to an additional 120 days in prison for participating in a protest at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. Forty-year-old Kelly Hood was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to inciting or leading a riot in a detention facility, stemming from an incident that happened last September. During the riot, officials say Hood engaged in violent behavior and helped barricade cell doors by tying sheets to them. He has credit for 76 days served.
