(Bismarck, ND) — Congressman Kelly Armstrong wants to switch jobs. He’s the first Republican to officially declare his candidacy for the Governor’s office now that Governor Burgum has decided not to seek a third term. Armstrong is an attorney who practiced law in Grand Forks and Dickinson before his election to Congress, and became known for winning three terms as North Dakota’s lone congressman. He says North Dakotans always do better when in charge of their own destiny, adding that’s why he’s decided to come home to run for governor.
