(Fargo, ND) — The Lashawitz High-Rise Building in downtown Fargo was imploded this past weekend. The 22-story building has been a part of the Fargo skyline for a long time, but it came crumbling to the ground in seconds with a few loud bangs on Saturday morning. Hundreds of spectators gathered to watch the spectacular scene, most standing along the east bank of the Red River. The building was brought down to make way for a 110-unit affordable housing complex that will be built in its place. Engineers say they should have the rubble cleared out within a month.
