Late Planting Season Creates Issues For Farmers

(Bismarck, ND) — A late planting season has left a smaller window for North Dakota farmers to mitigate growth of weeds. The delayed start has given farmers less time to spray and do controlled burns, both of which reduce growth of unwanted vegetation. The larger than normal weed growth is also requiring more chemicals to be used, and more money to be spent. Farmers say that a higher amount of weeds in their fields will negatively affect their yields.
