Laughing Gas Becoming More Prevalent In Childbirth

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota hospitals are turning to nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, to relieve birthing mothers’ labor pains. Hospital officials say this treatment option gives mothers a greater sense of control. While nitrous oxide doesn’t numb the pain, it does provide relief from the pain of childbirth. While the option has been around for some time, it is growing in popularity around the state.
