Legacy Fund Plans Outlined By State Legislature

(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers have new plans for the North Dakota Legacy Fund. GOP leaders say the eight-point-eight billion dollar oil tax savings account will bankroll quality-of-life improvements and tax relief for North Dakotans. The bulk of the Legacy Fund comes from oil and gas tax revenue that’s been accruing since 2011. The legislature overwhelmingly passed House Bill 1379 that revises a 2021 law laying out spending Legacy Fund investment earnings.
