Man Accused Of Shooting Ex-Wife Pleads Not Guilty

(Almont, ND) — An Almont man accused of shooting and wounding his ex-wife has pleaded not guilty. Fifty-eight-year-old Kelly Dittus faces charges of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, and discharge of a firearm in a city, and he entered his pleas on Monday. The shooting happened last month, when Dittus says his ex-wife tried to enter his house without his permission, and he allegedly responded by firing a shotgun at her. Investigators say Dittus said he originally pointed the gun at her head, but then aimed it lower and shot her in the leg.
