Man Arrested After Fleeing From Grand Forks Police

(Grand Forks, ND) — A man is in custody after he reportedly fled from Grand Forks police near The University of North Dakota campus Tuesday morning. Police say they tried to pull over a vehicle near Columbia Road around 9:00 a.m., but the car sped away from the officers. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Juan Gutierrez, then crashed into a pile of snow and ran away on foot, and a shelter-in-place order was issued for the U-N-D campus as police searched for him. Gutierrez was later found and arrested and taken to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center, where he was booked on several charges and outstanding federal warrants.
