Man Drowns At Lake Darling

(Renville County, ND) — A man drowned at Lake Darling while trying to recover a boat late last week. The incident occurred Thursday morning, when 73-year-old Douglas Trengen was trying to stop a boat from drifting away from a boat launch. Witnesses say he entered the water without a flotation device, failed to retrieve the boat, and went under the water while trying to swim back to shore. A report of a drowning was made, and the Minot and Burlington Dive Team located Trengen’s body later that evening.
