(Grand Forks, ND) — Police in Grand Forks say a man who sped off from a traffic stop is facing charges. Thirsty-seven-year-old Derek Fuglem was originally stopped by officers Tuesday afternoon for not displaying a front license plate or wearing a seat belt. When police attempted a traffic stop, the man made a U-turn and sped off. Officers eventually used an intervention technique to stop the man’s pickup truck, but he exited the vehicle and began running down the highway. They finally took him into custody and Fuglem faces charges that include driving under suspension, fleeing a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance.
