(Stanley, ND) — Stanley Police have identified the man who was fatally shot late last month as 39-year-old James Arsenault. Prosecutors have charged 33-year-old Malcolm Mayors with felony murder in connection with Arsenault’s death. Investigators say Mayors came to the Mountrail County Correctional Center and told them he had killed his friend. Mayors allegedly told them he had taken psychedelic mushrooms and shot his friend. Mayors remains in custody on a one-million-dollar bond and will appear for his preliminary hearing and arraignment on July 3rd.
