Man Indicted For Damaging Substation

(Ray, ND) — A Canadian man is being indicted on criminal charges for allegedly damaging a power substation in North Dakota. Cameron Smith is accused of causing over 100-thousand dollars in damage to the Wheelock power substation near the community of Ray. Smith was reportedly in the county illegally at the time of the offense, and authorities say he made illegal gun purchases as well. He’s being charged with Possession of a Firearm by an Illegal Alien, Possession of Ammunition by an Illegal Alien, and Destruction of an Energy Facility. The FBI and the Williams County Sheriff’s Office are both involved in the investigation.
