(Casselton, ND) — A 43-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a train collision near Casselton. It happened Wednesday morning at a railroad crossing on 154th Avenue Southeast, where the driver was heading south in his pickup truck as a train approached the crossing. Officials say the truck failed to yield and was hit by the train, causing it to spin out and hit a crossing sign. The man’s current condition isn’t known, and he faces charges of distracted driving, DUI, having an open alcohol container, and unlawful possession of THC.
