Man Pleads Not Guilty In Kidnapping Case

(Forman, ND) — A man charged in the kidnapping of a Forman woman has pleaded not guilty. It allegedly happened in October, when police say 47-year-old Ryan Bergh abducted bartender Melissa Wolter at gunpoint from Deuces Bar on Main Street. Wolter was allegedly driven to an empty field where Bergh threatened to rape her, but he ended up releasing her hours later and was arrested. Bergh told the judge he wanted to represent himself at Tuesday’s hearing. His trial is scheduled for March, and he remains in jail on a 100-thousand dollar bond.
