(Marmarth, ND) — The post office in Marmarth will be closing, as officials say it costs too much to keep it open in a tiny town that’s home to only about 100 people. The postmaster says they’ve asked state representatives to help them keep the post office boxes at the facility open, but haven’t heard back. Today will be the final day of delivery to those post office boxes there. The nearest post office is in Rhame, which is 14 miles away. Residents have the option of opening a P.O. box there, or can set up home delivery to their street address with the Bowman Post Office.
