(Watford City, ND) — A Watford City man charged with killing his mother has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. Thirty-five-year-old Scott Beane faces life in prison without parole if convicted of murdering his mother, 62-year-old Lois Beane. Prosecutors claim the younger Beane set his parent’s house on fire last September, and then barricaded his mother in a room, preventing her from reaching her walker and getting out.
