MHA Nation Could Soon Opt For Organ Donation

(New Town, ND) — A proposed program could allow the MHA nation to be the second tribe in the United States to be able to opt for organ donor registration on tribal IDs. Turtle Mountain tribal chairman Jamie Azure visited New Town Tuesday to promote the program. The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa began allowing its members the option of including organ donors on their IDs back in 2022. About 13-hundred people in the Turtle Mountains are now registered organ donors.
