Minot City Council Approves Funding For Investigation Into Police Chief

(Minot, ND) — The Minot City Council approved a budget amendment for up to 50-thousand dollars in further funding for an ongoing investigation into Minot Police Chief John Klug. The amendment, which was unanimously approved, will relocate the money from salary savings into the Police Department’s budget for the investigation. Klug was put on temporary paid administrative leave in September for concerns about past disciplinary measures, staff retention, and morale. Captain Dale Plessas remains the acting Chief of Police.
