(Minot, ND) — The City of Minot is trying to get federal funds as it looks to replace the Third Street Bridge. City Engineer Lance Meyer told the Minot City Council Monday the plan right now is to address the bridge’s issues on a step-by-step basis. The first step is to address the deterioration of a bridge pier that led to a temporary closure earlier this year. The city says it’s seeking a one-and-half million-dollar federal grant to start preliminary engineering in 2026 on a replacement for the bridge.
