Missouri River Above Normal Levels

(Garrison, ND) — Data shows that the Missouri River is several feet above its normal levels this year. Workers at the Garrison Dam monitor the river’s water level, and say excessive spring snowfall has brought the river up to three feet higher than anticipated. Dam officials say the water level is currently at its peak for this year, but will start to decrease as winter approaches. In addition, officials say they expect a consistent water level for this winter, which will lead to ideal conditions for ice fisherman.
