(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota is the deadliest state for construction workers. In a study by personal injury lawyers with Jones & Swanson, researchers took data on deadly accidents in 2022 in construction from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. North Dakota came in first at fatalities per capita, with 22 deaths per 100-thousand workers. The study found that the recent boom in the oil and gas industry in the state had led to the surge in incidents.
